Kristen Monroe
Ultimate Web Design, LLC

Kristen Monroe

Jackie Ingraham of F&J Racing wrote recently of Kristen Monroe: “I believe Kristen Monroe is a perfect candidate to receive this (“30 Under 40”) award. She has worked hard and I am very proud of her.”

As a result of Ingraham’s endorsement it appears that Monroe is on track joining other successful MCC graduates that have made an impact in Central Iowa both professionally and personally.

Monroe is the owner and president of Ultimate Web Design. She graduated from MCC in 2003 as a computer applications specialist. She has continued the link with Iowa Valley Community College by recently being hired as an instructor in Web Design for IVCC’s Continuing Education division.

F&J Racing, Fields Restaurant, Ron Fisher Furniture, Sun Daze Salon & Tanning, Central Iowa Machine Shop, Iowa Wholesale Supply and Mary Katherine’s are several Marshalltown area businesses that have hired Monroe for web designs.

“When I finish a project for a customer, I want them to know that I am available afterwards to answer questions,” she said. “And, I let them know that the work on the web page is their
property.”

Previously Monroe had been the manager of the Apparel Outlet store. When that closed, Monroe saw an opportunity to open her own business.

Monroe contributes her time to several organizations as volunteer-the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee, the Marshalltown Young Professionals and Youth and Shelter Services.

She enjoys kayaking, singing and spending time with friends and family.

30 Under 40 Description:

The Times-Republican reports on the people from Central Iowa who are "movers and shakers" in our area. But what about the "up-and-comers" who surround us? Who will be the future leaders of our industries, our schools, our businesses and our cities?

Our newspaper is looking for the next leaders out there and will do a special section to introduce them to our readers. Here's how it works:

The Rules:

  • The nominee must be under 40 years old on or before July 31, 2007.
  • The nominee must reside in Marshall, Hardin, Grundy, Tama or Story County.
  • The nominee must be employed in a business that he/she is expected to be a future leader in someday or is one already.
  • The nominee must have made some accomplishments in his/her filed that set him or her apart from others.
  • All selections by the panel of judges will be final.
  • Each nominee selected by the judges will receive a story in this special section.
